Since becoming a father I have found myself thinking more and more about the long-term future and what sort of the world my daughter will grow up to inherit.

It's given me a new perspective on life and especially on green issues. It makes me especially keen to see our "leaders" do a bit of leading on issues such as climate change. But since I only get the chance to make my voice heard every five years or so – when they beg for my vote – I'm also very keen that we all do what we can for the common good.

I have never considered myself an eco-warrior but I do think society as a whole needs to think a little more about the choices it has made for itself. We all have a responsibility that we just mustn't shirk.
