A survey has revealed that men wash their clothes less frequently than women. Is this a huge shock to anyone?
My view (though some may say I’m biased) is that we’re doing our bit to save water.
According to the survey by The Clorox Company, California-based producers of cleaning products for almost 100 years, one in eight men wear their underwear two or three times between washes.
I hate to compete, but years back my friend Joe wore his for a week, then he turned them back to front, and after that, inside out.
Further revelations include men relying on the "sniff" test to determine if clothes are fresh enough to wear, and men under 29 and over 50 wearing jeans four to five times before washing (of course! It’s the joy of denim!)
Men aged 18 to 29 only wash their sheets once a month. Women, however, wash them weekly.
So you get the idea. Men are a messy, dirty, smelly lot. Or, we’re just doing our bit to save precious resources.
I like to think the latter. And whether you’re a man or a woman you can do your bit to wash wisely by investing in some of BigGreenSmile’s eco-friendly laundry products from companies such as Ecover, Bio-D, ECOS, Faith in Nature, Planet Pure, and Alma Win.
And if the weather lets your washing line down and you must use your tumble dryer why not speed up the process and save energy with a pair of our Dryer Balls.
At this rate we’ll all be wearing clean underpants everyday. Women too.
