Spartacus: Vengeance cast uses eco-friendly cleaning products to mop up blood

Well, not quite. But the stars of Spartacus: Vengeance have revealed themselves to be truly green eco-warriors at the red carpet premiere for the new season of the blood and guts, sword and sandals, bottoms and breasts, epic TV series.

The series was put on hold when the original Spartacus, Andy Whitfield, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. A prequel was made, "Gods of the Arena", with the hope that Andy would recover. Sadly, that wasn’t to be; Andy passed away last September.

Liam McIntyre has taken on the role, saying; "Andy’s left the most amazing legacy you could possibly hope for and it’s the reason I have a job now. It’s such an honour to have such a big responsibility."

And, along with other members of the cast, Liam has also talked of his environmental responsibilities, pointing out his native Australia’s "impressive emission standards and carbon trading and systems with rainwater" that he’s always followed.

Gerri Miller at Mother Nature Network has reported on the green credentials of the (frequently naked) Spartacus stars (it saves on washing clothes and, well, buying them!)

Lucy Lawless, who plays the (frequently naked) Lucretia, is an ambassador for New Zealand Greenpeace; Manu Bennett, who plays the (frequently naked) Crixus, is a big fan of eco-friendly cleaning products and recycling (he’d love BigGreenSmile, and, possibly, some of BigGreenSmile's followers love him).

Katrina Law, (Mira; frequently naked), who mentored the new Spartacus ( "I felt like the old pro, ‘Just take your clothes off, hon, it’s going to be fine.’ It’s all in a day’s work"), is a keen water saver, with a dual flush toilet and a filter on the taps to make bottled water a thing of the past.

Well done Spartacus cast. And if you need something to clean up all that blood why not try Ecover Stain Remover (25% off at the mo). Oh, and Liam, since you’re going to be naked all the time, why not check out BigGreenSmile’s male beauty products; you’ll be wanting to look your best.
