Daryl Hannah has signed on as executive producer for Greedy Lying Bastards, a documentary that "presents a searing indictment of the influence, deceit and corruption that defines the fossil fuel industry."
The documentary, made by investigative filmmaker Craig Rosebraugh (though with such a provocatively entertaining title you'd be forgiven for mistaking it as a piece of work from Daryl’s "Kill Bill" friend, Quentin Tarantino) is due for release later this year.
The film "documents the impact of an industry that has continually put profits before people, waged a campaign of lies designed to thwart measures to combat climate change, used its clout to minimise infringing regulations and undermined the political process in the U.S. and abroad."
Craig said: "Daryl is a gifted actress with an impressive commitment to environmental protection. We are elated to have her on the project."
Daryl Hannah has been a committed environmentalist for over 16 years now. Her home reflects her small carbon footprint, using energy saving solar power and water saving grey water systems for her organic garden.
You can find out more about Daryl’s green lifestyle at her website, dhlovelife, which even features weekly five minute inspirational video blogs. It’s a great site, and well worth a look. The only downside? No clips from Splash or Attack of the 50ft Woman.
