New wool insulation 'shows green credentials'

New wool insulation Knauf Insulation mineral wool products feature ECOSE Technology and are made with a formaldehyde-free binder derived from rapidly renewable materials, instead of traditional petrol-based chemicals used in other insulation.

ECOSE Technology is up to 70 per cent less energy intensive than traditional binders and also produces a 'super-soft' and easier to handle wool.

The company claims installing its new brown wool insulation could save the equivalent of around two tonnes of CO2 emissions a year and about £380 from the heating bills of a typical semi-detached three bedroom house.

"We constantly strive to meet the needs of our customers in providing a wide range of insulation solutions to suit any design application," said Lydia Sharples, head of communications, northern Europe at Knauf Insulation.

Insulating a home helps retain a buildings heat and reduces the amount of waste energy and carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere.

Installing good quality insulation is the least people can do to take responsibility and help address the issue of climate change.
