Consumer energy bills are set to fall as British Gas has cut its electricity prices by an average of 10%. This is most welcome news as we are all feeling the pinch! British Gas does tend to lead price changes and its move is expected to be followed by the other energy suppliers.
British Gas expects 4.5m of their customers would benefit from the price cut straight away. The reduction does vary by region but the average saving to consumers will be 10%. This means that the average duel fuel bill for a British Gas customer will be about £1127 per year; down by £132 from the start of 2009.
