The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has highlighted hundreds of companies which meet the goals of its voluntary pledge.
The list of champions includes some of our favourite natural beauty brands, such as Weleda and Dr Bronner’s. Good news!
The Compact for Safe Cosmetics is a pledge to avoid chemicals banned in other countries, avoid harmful ingredients whenever possible and fully disclose product ingredients.
The campaign has been working with companies on the compact for the last seven years and there are now 321 cosmetics companies which meet its goals, along with another 111 companies which made significant progress towards those goals.
“This is great news for you, the consumer, and for the Campaign, the cosmetics industry and the lawmakers working to pass the Safe Cosmetics Act,” says the campaign.
“These 432 companies are leading the industry toward safety, showing it’s possible to make products without using the hazardous chemicals that are all too common in conventional personal care products.”
