Hollywood star Halle Berry would rather show off her natural beauty rather than cake herself in chemical filled makeup products, the actress has stated.

The 43-year-old Oscar winner revealed that she prefers to highlight her natural beauty, adding that too much makeup makes her feel like a transvestite.

Catwoman star Berry said: "Less is more. When I wear too much, I feel like a man in drag. I much prefer to be low maintenance."

She is not the only celebrity who has recently announced they would prefer to cut back rather than pile on the makeup.

Adrianne Curry, a former star of catwalk talent show America's Next Top Model, recently wrote a number of tips for achieving natural beauty on her website.

She explained it is important for women to love themselves and their natural look, rather than trying to follow the unnatural examples which often appear on the pages of fashion and beauty magazines.
