The Oscars gave some A-list film stars the chance to flout their pouts on the red carpet, according to one website.

One of the industry's most respected makeup artists, Robin Fredriksz, who worked with stars such as Cameron Diaz and Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock, told StyleList that the red-carpet pouts stole the show at this year's awards.

"I wanted her to look like the true movie star she is, so we went with modern classy Hollywood - dewy skin, soft eyes and a bold classic red lip," he said, speaking about Diaz's pout.

The makeup artist added that Diaz's red-carpet look was inspired by Veronica Lake's regal style.

The Oscars turned out to be a great night for Hollywood's leading ladies, as James Cameron's ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow stormed the Best Picture and Best Director category, while Bullock coupled her first Academy award with a Razzie gong for Worst Actress in the comedy All About Steve.
