Radiator Booster can heat your room faster, and save energy at the same time, reducing your heating bills.
Just put the Radiator Booster on top of a standard domestic water-filled radiator, plug it in and away it goes, using a miniature 12-volt electric fan to suck the heated air from behind your radiator and circulating it around your room far quicker than natural convection alone.
NOTE: This is the latest Mk2, telescopic version that fits smaller and larger radiators - from 400mm up to 750 mm. It also has an automatic thermostat that switches it off when the optimum temperature is reached, so saving more money.
How does it work?
As your radiator heats up, the 'rear' surface normally radiates heat onto your wall, heating this up, which in turn is lost through the wall structure due to conduction. The Radiator Booster sucks the heat from the rear of your radiator and fires it into your room, significantly reducing the losses, saving you even more energy.
What does it cost to run?
The beauty of Radiator BOOster is that when the colder weather arrives, you simply plug it in and forget it. The device is fitted with a thermostatic switch which turns on the power to the unit as your radiator starts to warm, and then off again as it cools. Because it is only working when your radiator is warm, the energy consumption should be no more than 1p per week.
Instructions
- Extend the housing to match the length or your radiator, or on longer radiators, until just 25mm-overlap of the two sections remains.
- Place atop the radiator, as far towards the back (wall) as possible, equal distance from both ends. Ensure the product label is facing downwards as the diamond-shaped openings allow the warm air to be drawn up from behind the radiator. Some radiator designs allow the device to ‘drop-down a little’ behind it. This further improves the performance.
- Plug in / Switch on the power. From here, the built-in thermostat will ‘switch-on’ the device as soon as your radiator heats up, and ‘off’ again as the radiator cools. For maximum product life & energy saving, switch off from wall socket when not needed.
Not for use with oil filled radiators, electric storage radiators, or electric convection radiators.
