We have two timers that use the classic sand timer mechanism to measure a four-minute shower.

Both have strong suction cups to hold them in place. When you start a shower, just twist the timer around so that the sand starts to fall - the suction cup will hold it in place. Then, when all the sand has fallen, you know your time's up.
