Eco products 'are in demand' with homeowners

Eco products Householders are buying an increasing number of eco products as their awareness of environmental issues grows, it has been suggested.

Alison Coleman, marketing manager for kitchen products manufacturer Magnet, notes the impact that ecological concerns are having on buying habits.

In order to cater for this, the company is using more recycled materials in its own eco products - such as household mirrors, scrap stone and even ash produced by power plants.

"Everyone is becoming more and more environmentally conscious and this is reflected in every purchase for the home," Ms Coleman notes.

Her comments follow findings from IKEA that indicate the importance of eco products and design for families' kitchens.

Asking what householders would like from a kitchen in 2040, the retailer found broad-ranging environmental concerns.

Desires ranged from greater energy efficiency in the room as a whole, to home-growing methods that would increase the family's consumption of organic foods.ADNFCR-2539-ID-800024932-ADNFCR
