Apple cider vinegar can make your hair shine naturally

We just love our stash of natural hair care products but we’re always looking for a few DIY recipes to supplement our regime.

Kirsten Hudson, writing for the Huffington Post, has been looking at how good apple cider vinegar is for our locks.

“This staple ingredient can do more than dress salads and make pickles - it's also a fabulous all-in-one beauty product for all of you natural beauties on a budget,” she says.

“Often, harsh soaps and shampoos strip hair and skin of its natural oils, leaving you feeling dry all over. The acidity of apple cider vinegar counteracts that process and actually balances your skin and hair's natural pH levels.”

She advises us to look for good quality apple cider vinegar – organic, obviously.

Then, you can use it to get rid of residue and “gunk” in your hair which builds up from using other products.

“It also works as a natural detangler,” says Kirsten. “When used regularly in your natural hair care routine, apple cider vinegar can revitalize your hair, leaving it soft and smooth.”

It also makes your locks shine. Give it a go! Just mix one part vinegar with one part water, and apply after shampooing. Leave it there for a few minutes and then rinse with water. It’s as easy as that.
