The Dead Sea or "Sea of Salt" in Hebrew was one of the worlds first health resorts due to the high mineral content of the water and the comparatively low content of allergens, pollens and ultra violet solar radiation, the Dead Sea being below sea level.  The Dead Sea is far saltier than normal salt water containing 27% salt compared to 3% on average found in other salt waters.  However it is the balance of the salts in the Dead Sea that provide the health benefits, where as sodium accounts for 80% of sea salt normally the Dead Sea has a fine balance of magnesium, potassium, calcium chloride and bromides, with sodium accounting for just 10%.

There have been many studies into the health properties over the years of Dead Sea minerals and salts that have shown that many skin allergies can be helped with their use.  Many medical problems have also shown to be alleviated including psoriasis, eczema and purulent rashes.
