The bristles were very hard at first use, but after that soft. I actually found that they got too soft (not "medium" any more but rather "very soft") quite fast and disposed of the bristles much faster than I would of a tooth brush. I will try the nylon bristles next.

I like the toothbrush. I find the bristles just right, not too hard ànd not too soft. Using natural bristle feels much better than manmade.
