Many mass produced antiperspirants contain aluminium salts which have been shown to affect the blood-brain barrier in the central nervous system that restricts the passage of chemicals and bacteria out of the blood stream. The link with breast cancer and aluminium is a myth though.
Natural deodorants use a mixture of essential oils and alternatives to aluminium salts such as Zinc Ricinoleate which masks bacterial odour, and Hops which impair bacterial function to keep you fresh all day.
