We sell things to put a smile on your face and that in some way help towards a greener
lifestyle that is more in tune with eco friendly living. Our aim is to provide you
with an informative and friendly environment in which to browse a wide range of
products including energy
saving products, natural
beauty products,
natural cleaning products, organic
baby products, water
efficiency products and eco–friendly
gift ideas.
How we began
BigGreenSmile.com started life as three friends who each had a view point on what
eco-friendly shopping should encompass and we thought the three views sat so well
together we decided to set up a website selling eco-friendly products that met our
BigGreenSmile mantra:
BIG change
is required in the way we live but big change doesn’t always have to be made by
governments. The individual can make a difference and small changes by one person
can have a ripple effect through society at large.
GREEN products
should perform as well as or better than their contemporaries, which are not environmentally
friendly. Whether it be natural beauty products, a green gift or natural cleaning
products; green products should offer great quality, be efficient, offer good design,
be value for money and be as stylish as is humanly possible.
SMILE, that’s
what shoppers should be doing. Shopping should be fun, informative, easy and be
backed up with great service so our customers all have smiles on their faces.
Our shop includes a range of products and green gift ideas that will help people
of all ages think twice, or remind themselves that the resource they are using is
precious.
We try to include as much information on the products as possible to allow you to
make an informed choice. If you have any specific questions about any of our products,
however, then please get in touch.
We do have a number of product criteria, which our products have to meet.
- Natural beauty products must not contain chemical nasties.
- Natural baby products must not contain chemical nasties.
- Natural cleaning products must not contain chemical nasties.
- Water efficiency products should have gone through tests and show a specific water
saving or prove that they can change behavioural use of water.
- Energy saving products should have gone through necessary testing to establish they
use less energy.
- Recycled materials are used wherever possible across all products.
- Products are locally sourced wherever possible.
- Wood products come from sustainable sources.
- No products are routinely air freighted.
- No products tested on animals.
