Modern Slavery Statement

Introduction

This statement sets out the actions of Big Green Smile Ltd (“Big Green Smile”) and its subsidiaries to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in its own business and its supply chains.

To that end, Big Green Smile seeks to ensure that quality and safety standards are maintained throughout our supply chain and that workers are treated fairly and in accordance with all applicable laws.

Structure of our business

Big Green Smile source and sell household, beauty and personal care products from around the world for sale on our websites. The majority of our products are sourced from within the EU but using ingredients that are sourced globally.

Supply Chain

Big Green Smile has a zero tolerance approach to Modern Slavery and are committed to the prevention, deterrence and detection of modern slavery within our business and supply chain. Big Green Smile have undertaken the following efforts to help prevent slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain.

Supplier Code

As part of our procurement process, suppliers are bound through the purchase terms and conditions with us to comply with the Big Green Smile supplier code of conduct.

This code prohibits the use of forced labour and child labour (defined as anyone under the age of seventeen years).

This code also includes minimum wage and maximum working hour requirements.

A full copy of our code can be viewed here: https://www.biggreensmile.com/supplier-code-of-conduct >>

Suppliers must also submit to audits or inspections as required by Big Green Smile to confirm their adherence to the supplier code of conduct. We have not yet begun conducting independent, unannounced audits of third party suppliers, nor have we used a third party to verify the risks in our supply chain. If we believe a supplier is in breach of the supplier code, having applied a risk based analysis, we require that the supplier take the appropriate remedial actions. If the issue is serious enough, or if appropriate corrective actions are not taken in a timely fashion, Big Green Smile will switch our source of supply to a supplier who is not a risk.

Risk Review

Big Green Smile periodically reviews its supply chain and supplier base to determine the level of risk associated with each supplier with respect to slavery and human trafficking based on its knowledge of their industries and their country of origin. We aim within the next year to implement a more formal risk review and mechanism for measuring the effectiveness of our Supplier Code.

Training
Big Green Smile ensures that key employee are aware of the supplier code and the risk issues such as forced or child labour as part of our procurement process.

Internal Policies

Big Green Smile has a whistleblowing policy. This ensures that anyone who has concerns has the means of raising these concerns confidentially.

Big Green Smile is committed to the protection of employees from the use of any forced, compulsory or child labour by or for Big Green Smile.

Big Green Smile ensures that it is in strict compliance with all applicable laws relating to human rights and labour standards.

Approval

Big Green Smile believes that the activities listed above will promote the goals of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and help prevent slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain.
