How to use:

Suitable for white and colourfast items. Use Ecover Delicate for wool and silk. Don't let product dry-out on your laundry. Always follow label and machine instructions. Suitable for 30-60°C. Flame-retardant finishes: never soak or wash above 50°C.
1 cap = 40ml
Standard load (4-5kg) / Soft-medium water = 35ml
Larger (6-8kg) dirtier load/hard water = 50ml (2 x 25ml)

These have a very gentle smell and do a good job on dirty children's clothes. We use the Ecover pre wash stain remover on ketchup and other heavy spots as you would have to do with other powders - it's good but not a miracle worker. We have stopped using the Ecover fabric conditioner because it is not required, this product alone leaves a lovely clean smell and our towels do not feel like cardboard. Cleans off blood without a boost but muddy clothes may need a boost depending on dirt level. Your clothes will be clean.

Only one complaint about this product - the tops of the 1l and 1.5l bottles have a different thread. So, when you've got the top of one in the washing machine, you can't use a spare one of the other type to 'cork' the open bottle

Can't fault this stuff! It's better than it used to be a few years ago and the 1.5L bottle is quite long-lasting as there are only two of us to wash for so I don't need to do many loads each week. It smells lovely and fresh in the bottle and leaves a little of a subtle fragrance on your laundry when it is dry - not harsh and artificial like a lot of them you can buy. Fully deserves 5 stars!

I now use this product for all my laundry except for delicates. I have very sensitive skin and allergies and most detergents make me sneeze and rash, even walking down the detergent aisle in supermarketrs makes me sneeze. I can actually sniff this product without any ill effects. It is very concentrated and I find I can use even a little less than recommended and get excellent results. I like the smell too. I can also feel virtuous due to the "green" nature of this product. It seems to clean everything adequately and I have not found any need for a biological product over the few months I have been using it. I find it to be economical especially in the larger sizes. I highly recommend this product for everyone. Whites seem to come out lovely and bright although deep colours do not fade. I have seen comments about washing machines developing slime but have not found this to be the case although I have been using it for some time. I do as my washing machine manufacturer recommends and do a very hot wash once a month - usually with all my dishcloths and cleaning cloths in it.

This washes fine, but apparently is the cause of the black slime building up in the washing machine.
The repair man said that powder is less likely to do this, however I found that your powder didn't dissolve fully and clothes came out still crusted with it.

Originally bought this product from a recommendation from my daughters dermatologist. Tried other brand non bio products with no difference in my daughters excema, but since using Ecover her skin is almost perfect after 7 years of using steroid creams. Ran out of Ecover non bio as our local store stopped stocking it,her excema returned when i used another brand. Now order online to avoid running out!

Excellent results but without the overpowering smell of big brand detergents. Effective for all uses and all temperatures. In comparison with the biological version I use this for general grime rather than sweat-based dirt - so ideal for towels and clothing.
