Give fabrics the right care
A little extra care keeps your favourite clothes looking new for longer.
✔️ Separate darks from lights to prevent colour bleed
✔️ Turn coloured garments inside out to protect prints and keep colours vibrant
✔️ Empty pockets, zip up zippers and fasten buttons to avoid snags and protect your wash
Sonett speciality liquids help care for delicate and coloured fabrics:

Treat stains to reduce washing
Catch stains before they set and you’ll often save yourself a whole extra wash. A quick spritz or soak can rescue clothes from food, ink, or grass marks before they become stubborn. And for those inevitable mishaps - like red wine, coffee or muddy knees - an oxygen-based powder gives a gentle but powerful lift without being harsh on fabrics.

Don’t overload your machine
When the drum is too full, detergent and water can’t reach every fibre. Leave about a fist’s width of space at the top of the drum to help clothes move freely and ensure a more efficient wash.
Use the right amount of detergent and wash on low temperatures
More detergent doesn’t always mean cleaner clothes. In fact, excess detergent can leave residue and encourage bacteria that makes your clothes smell. Too little though, and you won’t remove dirt properly. Always follow the guidelines on the product label.
Most of the energy used in a wash goes into heating water. Everyday lightly soiled clothes can come clean at 20oC, which saves energy and helps colours last longer. Use 40–60 °C for bedding, towels and heavily soiled laundry.

Dry clothes carefully & maintain your machine
Remove laundry as soon as the cycle finishes to prevent mildew and musty smells. Air-dry on a line or rack whenever possible - it’s a more sustainable option compared to machine drying and gentler on fabrics. If using a tumble dryer, don’t overload and avoid overdrying.
Leave the machine door and detergent drawer open after use to let moisture evaporate and keep your washer fresh.
By following these five laundry tips, you’ll help your clothes last longer, reduce energy and water use, and cut down on chemical run-off. Small changes - like washing at lower temperatures and treating stains before they set - can make a big difference.
