Bestselling Vegan Beauty Products Under £10

World Vegan Month 2017

Happy World Vegan Month! Did you know that the number of vegans in the UK is rising? More than half a million Brits are now proud to call themselves vegan. If you’re one of them, read on for our top recommendations for ethical beauty buys on a budget.

1: Faith in Nature’s Coconut Conditioner

We’re big fans of Faith in Nature here at Big Green Smile, and so are our customers. All Faith in Nature products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free, and they don’t contain any synthetic ‘nasties’ such as SLS or artificial preservatives, colours or fragrances. They’re also as kind to your wallet as they are to the planet, and they really are effective.

The Coconut Conditioner is packed with organic coconut oil, so it smells lovely and leaves your hair feeling soft, shiny and cared for. As one reviewer told us, “This is by far the best affordable conditioner for dry hair that I have come across.”

2: Bio-D Sanitising Fragrance Free Hand Wash

Looking for triclosan-free soap? Bio-D have banned triclosan, formaldehyde and a wide range of other chemicals from their products. They also don’t use any animal-derived ingredients, and are certified by Cruelty-Free International and The Vegan Society.

The Sanitising Hand Wash kills 99.9% of harmful germs, including E Coli, Salmonella and MRSA, but is still gentle to your skin. (It’s approved by Allergy UK.) Most of our reviewers have awarded it the full five stars, with comments such as ‘excellent value’, ‘lovely lather’ and ‘great for sensitive skin’.

3. Pacifica Solid Perfumes

Vegan beauty brand Pacifica grew from its founder’s love of aromatherapy. There’s a focus on natural essential oils, and fragrances are available as spray perfumes, rollerballs and solid perfumes.

Personally, we think the Pacifica Solid Perfumes make ideal stocking fillers. Organic soy and coconut wax is blended with natural and essential oils, and housed in a handbag-friendly tin. You just dab a touch on your pulse points and enjoy the fragrance for hours. If you like floral scents, try the Tahitian Gardenia blend, which, as one customer told us, smells ‘like summer’.

4. Tisserand Essential Oils

If you’re a fan of blending your own oils, bergamot is definitely an essential oil to have in your collection. Extracted from organic fruit grown in Italy, it has a lively, fresh fragrance and blends well with geranium and lemongrass. Try adding three drops of bergamot and two of frankincense to a vaporiser to create a warming Christmas fragrance. Or, as one customer suggests, use bergamot ‘with a base oil for a light organic perfume’.

All Tisserand essential oils are organic, or wild crafted. They’re also cruelty-free and most products are certified by the Vegan Society.

5. PHB Ethical Beauty Natural & Organic Eyeliner Pencil

All PHB cosmetics are vegan, cruelty-free, halal and free from unsustainable ingredients such as palm-oil. They’re also really effective – PHB have won numerous awards and been featured in the likes of Vogue, Glamour and Marie Claire. What’s more, PHB donate 20% of their profits to charity. So you can feel extra good when you’re applying your makeup.

The Eyeliner Pencil is one of our favourite PHB products. It’s made with plant oils and waxes, so it glides on smoothly and is kind to your skin.

6. Green People Natural Aloe Vera Roll On Deodorant

Green People natural deodorantGreen People is one of the UK’s best known organic beauty brands. They’ve been certified as cruelty-free by PETA, and all products are suitable for vegetarians. Most are also vegan-friendly.

If you’ve been struggling to find an effective natural deodorant, give Green People’s a try. It’s won several awards, is really gentle on skin, and it works. Our customers have told us it’s ‘gentle but effective’, ‘smells great’ and ‘keeps me fresh all day’. Rather than using alcohol, aluminium and other harsh ingredients, it’s formulated with minerals, seed oils and natural fragrances such as rosemary and sandalwood.

7. Ecozone Baby & Kids Baby Oil
