TV star and eco-celebrity Ashley Jensen has been talking about her passion for the environment.
The actress, who shot to fame in Ricky Gervais’s TV show Extras, is promoting the work of the Environmental Justice Foundation.
The charity raises awareness of the plight of millions of people all over the world who are forced to flee their homes by climate-related disasters.
The Telegraph reports that Jensen is making a video to promote the foundation’s work, with the theme “no place like home”.
Jensen told the newspaper: “Home is somewhere you feel secure and comfortable; a place where you can be yourself. This particular project is about people’s homes which have been destroyed.
“We’re so used to taking our homes for granted; we all want to go home in the evening and put our slippers on, but some people just don’t have that.”
She says the arrival of her own child, Frankie, in 2009, made her think more about the environment and the rest of the world.
“When I had Frankie I started to think more about the future,” she said.
