Green cleaning products could help us all to look younger for longer, according to a manufacturer of environmentally friendly household cleaners. 

Alma Win's website highlights the damage that can be done to us on a daily basis when we use dish-washing products that contain irritants that can "cause the condition of the skin to deteriorate, making hands look old before their time."

Joanne Blaylock, from natural beauty and lifestyle company, Pravera, said: "Wrinkly, red and cracked hands look terrible and can put years on you.

"Avoid any product which contains sodium laureth sulphate, parfum and synthetic colourants. These are known irritants which can cause the skin to dry out making it itchy and red. If you use washing-up liquid daily, it’s a good idea to opt for an organic brand, as this will be gentler on skin and on the environment."

But it’s not just our skin that can be affected by the harsh chemicals in some cleaners. Vapours from cleaners can cause problems for anyone with asthma and those suffering from allergies or respiratory health issues.
