Dr Seuss’ The Lorax to carry green message across the globe

Dr Seuss’ The Lorax is teaming up with businesses and organisations around the world to help empower us all to make the right environmentally-conscious choices in everyday life.

The 3D film, due for a summer release in the UK, features the voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, and Danny DeVito as the grumpy but loveable Lorax. Universal has 69 partners globally to help promote the film, including the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), Clean Up Australia, Greenpeace Philippines, and The Woodland Trust here in the UK.

Lisa P. Jackson said on behalf of the EPA: "For years The Lorax has been inspiring people of all ages to take part in protecting their environment.

"Dr Seuss’ classic is an enduring and meaningful story about how valuable our environment is, and how we all have a responsibility to protect it. The message of The Lorax goes hand-in-hand with the Energy Star programme, which helps consumers take their own steps to cut energy use, shrink their carbon footprint and protect our planet."

Here in the UK The Woodland Trust and The Lorax have partnered to support the Jubilee Woods project with a goal of planting six million trees.
