Earth Friendly Products, manufacturer of award-winning eco-friendly household cleaning products, has been presented with the Illinois Governor’s Sustainability Award.

The honour has been given to the company in recognition of its ongoing commitment to "environmental excellence through outstanding and innovative sustainability practices."

John Vlahakis, President of Earth Friendly Products, said: "We are very grateful to Governor Pat Quinn and his staff for this award. It is a great recognition of the ongoing sustainability efforts by our company and our employees."

Earth Friendly Products headquarters are based in Addison, Illinois, along with one of their five manufacturing facilities across America.

The centre in Addison is a shining light when it comes to eco-friendly practices, leading Illinois by being the largest solar-powered commercial facility in the state. Its roof boasts a magnificent 312 solar panels.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn clearly has a keen interest in promoting green agendas too; here he is pictured at last year's Chicago Green Festival holding up a bill he signed calling for energy audits to be carried out and used to set future energy efficiency standards.
