Method, maker of eco-friendly household cleaning products, has signed up to WindMade, the first global consumer label that identifies organisations and products that use wind power in their operations or production.
All companies that sign up to WindMade pledge to use at least 25% wind energy as part of their commitment to renewable energy. Method is joined in the challenge by many other global companies and brands, including Motorola Mobility, Deutsche Bank and Bloomberg.
A global launch for the WindMade label took place in New York last week. WindMade’s CEO, Henrik Kuffner, said of the corporate pioneers and founders, including Method: "We are delighted to have them on board the unique WindMade initiative, and are confident that many others will follow suit in the coming weeks and months."
So keep your eyes peeled for the WindMade label in the future; a label that will not only tell you which of your favourite products are made using clean energy, but will also state the exact percentage of the wind energy share.
