The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection is calling for testing on animals for household cleaning products to be banned quickly.
The organisation has welcomed the Government’s reaffirmation of its intention to introduce a ban, but is also calling for clarification as to what products will be covered and just when the ban will come into effect.
Bob Russell, Liberal Democrat MP for Colchester, said: "I share the disappointment expressed by the BUAV. With colleagues, I shall work with the BUAV to see progress rather than more delay and to press for a definite implementation date on the a complete ban on animal testing for household products."
Here at BigGreenSmile we share the BUAV’s belief that it "is unacceptable for animals to continue to suffer and die for a new washing up liquid or air freshener."
We fully support their Clean up Cruelty campaign to end the use of animals to test household products. All of our products are free from animal testing and many are approved by the BUAV’s Humane Household Product Standard, symbolised by the Leaping Bunny logo, including products from Method, Bio-D and Faith in Nature.
All these cleaners clearly show us it is completely possible to care for your home without inflicting pain and suffering on animals, and we join the BUAV in urging to government to implement a ban as soon as possible.
