Good Energy urges us to generate our own green energy

Good Energy, the UK’s only 100% renewable electricity supplier, is urging us all to get a move on and install our own solar panels.

The company says we should take advantage of the government’s Feed-In Tariff scheme before a possible reduction in payments for renewable electricity from April 2012.

The Feed-In Tariff Comprehensive Review Consultation will be published shortly with the expectation of an announcement in payment cuts.

Good Energy’s founder and CEO, Juliet Davenport, said; "The Feed-in Tariff has made investing in solar PV attainable to a wide range of people.

"Many of our customers are getting a return of close to £1,000 a year, on top of an average yearly saving of around £150 on their electricity bill. Households and small businesses in all areas of the country and of all shapes and sizes have been enjoying the benefits, and we urge more to sign up to the Feed-in Tariff to get the best rates before April 2012."

With the government and even the ‘Big Six’ energy companies urging us to shop around for the best energy deals, why not go one step further and become your own energy generator, whether through solar PV or wind power; you can save energy and money in the process.

Good Energy offer a Feed-In Tariff pack through their website and the Energy Saving Trust website is also a good source of info.
