Leonardo DiCaprio is the leading celebrity to speak out against global warming, according to a report in the Telegraph.
The publication noted that the Prius-driving Titanic star co-wrote, co-produced and narrated the film 11th Hour, which discussed the state of the global environment and offered solutions to restoring the planet's ecosystems.
Furthermore, the article pointed out that he has frequently won praise from a range of environmental and
energy saving groups for his refusal to charter private jets, instead choosing to reduce his carbon footprint by flying commercially.
He has also inspired a number of other Hollywood A-listers, such as Penelope Cruz and Orlando Bloom, to be more eco-friendly.
Elsewhere in the Telegraph's list, Radiohead vocalist Thom Yorke and Hannah Montana performer Miley Cyrus were also praised for their environmental credentials.
The article was written ahead of December 2009's Copenhagen Climate Change summit, in which world leaders will look to reach an international agreement on reducing energy emissions to tackle the effects of global warming.
