Powertraveller's startmonkey200 - one of its eco products for quickly and easily jump-starting an engine - impressed Yamaha Motor UK at the recent 2010 Sail for Gold Regatta.

Mark Pullinger, marine manager at Yamaha Motor UK's new business division, says: "We used the startmonkey on three to four occasions where boats had flat batteries and found the kit to be perfect for the job."

He adds that Yamaha vehicles are used both by officials organising the event and by coaches to offer on-site training to participants.

Eco products from Powertraveller can be combined for a climate-conscious approach to recharging a flat car battery or other portable devices.

The startmonkey200 can itself be recharged using the company's solargorilla, meaning no mains connection is required.

Alternatively, it can be plugged into the car itself using a special charger, allowing it to recharge from empty in eight hours with the engine providing the power required.
