Spring has turned decidedly soggy recently but you can still brighten up your life with some seasonal flowers.
Natural beauty products often contain extracts from flowers as they have different properties which are good for our skin.
According to the Daily Express, some of the most exciting recent developments in anti-ageing products come from ingredients found in plants and flowers.
The Express says that scientists discovered a molecule in sunflowers which helps them hold up their heads – which they then applied to an extra-firming neck cream! Genius…
The newspaper also picked out some favourite flower-based products, including Weleda’s Calendula Face Cream, which uses, you guessed it, calendula, also known as pot marigold. It’s so good for sensitive skin that it’s often used in natural baby products.
The Express also highlighted Neal’s Yard Chamomile Cleanser – chamomile is often used for dry and sensitive skin – and Neal’s Yard Rose & Geranium products. Geranium apparently has “toning and anti-inflammatory properties and helps soothe tight muscles”.
