How to make natural shaving oil

We know blokes can get hooked on men's natural beauty products – but what about homemade beauty recipes?

Nadia R, from the BlogHer website, says these can be a winner with men too.

“I didn’t have a clue how to make him a ‘believer’ till the moment when I ‘cooked’ (this is what he says I am doing with my homemade beauty stuff) his first homemade shaving cream or, for the sake of precision – his first homemade shaving oil. And finally, he was hooked,” she says.

Nadia says her recipe is simple – take five/six parts organic oil to one part of aloe vera gel. Mix it up and put it in a glass bottle.

Oils she suggests you can use include jojoba, sunflower, olive, sweet almond, castor, sesame, calendula or avocado.

“The aloe vera gel will heal, nourish, regenerate and sooth the skin making it look more beautiful and healthy,” she says.

To use it, apply on the skin and shave. Then just clean the skin with a cloth afterwards. “I use this homemade shaving oil for me too,” says Nadia.

“I love it, because my skin is smooth and calm. I have no rashes or itchiness after shaving and what is most important – no parabens and other toxic chemicals on my skin.”
