Natural sun care 'still needed in the UK'

UK residents may be wrong to assume that they only need to apply their natural sun care products while they are abroad.

The British Skin Foundation notes that some Britons seem to think they can be "more relaxed" about protecting themselves against over-tanning.

However, spokesperson Bevis Man adds that this is a fallacy, as the summer months bring sunlight bright enough to burn.

In turn, this can cause long-term skin damage, he warns.

Natural sun care products with water resistance could be a wise option for anyone planning to go swimming; however, Mr Man suggests reapplying sunscreen after towelling off.

He also advises putting a fresh layer of sun cream on every few hours, as general movement, everyday contact and sweating in the heat can all cause lotion to come off.

In addition to using sunscreen - whether made of natural ingredients or a mainstream chemical-based brand - Mr Man recommends covering up with a hat as an extra layer of protection.ADNFCR-2539-ID-19910850-ADNFCR
