Housing and regeneration group LHA-ASRA has announced the completion of 33 eco-homes on disused land in Derbyshire.
Built by contractor William Davis, the collection of two-bedroom bungalows wasspecifically constructed for the over-55s and meets level four of the government's Code for Sustainable Homes criteria.
The properties benefit from a range of
water saving and eco-friendly technologies. The bungalows run efficiently on low levels of water, contain storage space for recyclables and even have a charging point for mobility scooters.
William Cornall, director of development and regeneration at LHA-ASRA said: "These homes are ground-breaking in their use of eco-technology. A biomass boiler on each site runs on wood pellets, providing a heating system which reduces carbon dioxide emissions by half."
All the properties meet the Lifetime Homes Standard, which means they can be adapted to attend to a variety of needs, allowing people to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
LHA-ASRA provides housing and regeneration for people and communities across central and southern England.
