Hozelock demonstrates water saving at Hampton Court

Hozelock's water saving irrigation system, Aquapod, is on show at Hampton Court Flower Show 2010 this week.

Water saving is high on the agenda at the moment, with the news that United Utilities is enforcing a hose pipe ban starting Friday.

However, that does not mean that you can't use a hose pipe - it simply means it must not be connected to the mains supply.

If you have water butts or even a natural spring or well on your property, you may be able to continue using your hose by attaching it to that.

Hozelock's Aquapod is one way to save water that you might want to set up ready for when the ban is lifted.

Up to ten Aquapods can be daisy-chained together to allow a total of 39 pots to be watered at once.

This, Hozelock says, allows water consumption to drop by a possible 90 per cent compared to using a watering can - which already uses less than a single hose attached to the mains.ADNFCR-2539-ID-19880520-ADNFCR
