Water saving measures can make your home more efficient and are one of the most important improvements a homeowner can make, an expert has said.
Experts from Ford told the Guardian that having a
water saving device in a toilet cistern can conserve water each time it is flushed, which can make a big difference to bills.
The advisers recommended using a purpose-built device such as
Hippo the Water Saver, which can be used with any toilet installed in 2001 or before and is available from our website for only £1.95.
Water lost from dripping hot taps would be enough to fill half a bath every week so it is essential to make sure they are properly turned off, Ford said.
Rather than filling kettles to the top every time they are used, the efficiency experts also advised only using just enough water, as long as the heating elements are covered.
